It has been a while since our last update so I thought I would update you on all that has been happening with the charity. Living conditions continue to improve at Khagendra and we continue to receive positive messages about the progress many of the residents are making. Since November 2018 many of the residents have worked in producing bracelets, keyrings and dream catchers to be sold locally- and occasionally further afield - to successfully fund local projects including a wheelchair repair centre and a recycling centre at Khagendra.
Our contacts in Nepal have been invaluable in keeping us up to date with progress at the centre including any resources or support required. Through their help we have funded essential supplies including a new wooden bed for the local independent living hostel, a hot and cold water dispenser and a wooden board to be used in the wheelchair workshop for repairs and maintenance. These supplies will continue to assist the team in moving forward and improving conditions, while continuing to develop sustainably through local projects. A special thank you to Krishna for his tireless work in coordinating projects and keeping us so well informed.
We continue to fund weekly fruit and egg supplements- providing an invaluable dietary boost to all the residents. It is vitally important that residents- many of which are at high risk of pressure sores - are provided with adequate vitamins and protein to maintain healthy skin and a healthy immune system. Without your support this would not be possible so for this we would like to say a huge THANK YOU!
