Thank you Sophie for all your fantastic and tireless work, on behalf of FCN and all the residents at Khagendra.
Sophie, a student nurse at Huddersfield University, spent a busy Summer volunteering at Khagendra and was loved by all the staff and residents alike. She helped staff with the day to day running of the home and was organised in planning activities for the residents. Prior to her stay at the Centre, she raised £350 by selling her homemade marmalade on behalf of FCN, which was spent on, among others, soap, cleaning equipment, celebration food and invaluable repairs including the site telephone line and earthing the electricity.
Thank you Sophie for all your fantastic and tireless work, on behalf of FCN and all the residents at Khagendra.

I am delighted to say that Tika Ram, long term resident at Khagendra and film maker, has finally received his electric wheelchair. Funded through the brilliant Paula Morris and FCN, the chair will allow Tika freedom and independence in moving around the care home and neighbourhood. Previously Tika was reliant on others to move around due to the nature of his disability causing global loss of power. Tika is an advocate for rights for disabled people in Nepal and in the past has made films highlighting the issues society poses on disabled people.
